Energy saving operation analysis of indirect evaporative coolingcomposite air conditioning systems in data centers

Combining the climate conditions in Shanghai, TRNSYS software is used to simulate the annual required cooling load over time by setting the conditions of the data center computer room, and the equipment selection is determined. Based on the mathematical model of the main equipment of the indirect evaporative cooling composite air conditioning system, a simulation platform is built. By switching the operation mode of the air conditioning system, the air supply state diagrams and operation characteristics under three operation modes are obtained through simulation. The results show that the dry mode with lower energy consumption should be adopted in winter, the wet mode should be adopted in the transition season, and the hybrid mode should be adopted in summer. Compared with the conventional mechanical cooling system, the annual power consumption of the composite air conditioning system is 3.526 million kWh, and the energy saving rate is as high as 34.8%.
